Aloha!
Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science (HAAS) is a Title I charter school located in Pahoa, Hawaii. It has a music department that includes a Band Ensemble Class, a community service outreach group called Music Heals and a music club (NYXus) which are all under the supervision of Trever Veilleux. HAAS’ music department has been a great place for inspiring youth to express their talent and explore their interest in music.
The magic happens in a simple pop up classroom at HAAS called Mathland. Because of Trever’s dedication, enthusiasm and guidance we are fortunate to have an opportunity to play music. We learn new songs, rehearse and are also given an opportunity to perform for others at different venues in the community. Still, we are limited in our music supplies, equipment and instruments. This is why we are asking for your donations which will go towards purchasing the following:
Two guitar amps, a new keyboard, a trumpet, music cables, capos, foot pedals for guitars etc.
As a senior at HAAS Indigital who plays the flute and sings, I was inspired to organize this music fundraiser as a part of my senior project. It includes a live concert which will be on Saturday, February 24th at 6pm on the HAAS campus. However, I realized we will still need more money to reach our goal of $3,000. I hope others, who also love music, might be inspired to make a donation for a good cause.
This donation is a way to support the youth in our community, encouraging them to pursue their creative dreams through music!
Please pass this on to anyone you think may be interested.
Thank you for your support
